The Udenu ICT Tech and Innovation Hub is now fully set to welcome its first batch of trainees, marking a giant leap in the Local Government’s innovative effort in digital empowerment and youth capacity development. The Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, expressed profound satisfaction with the state of readiness of the facility this afternoon, during an inspection tour of the centre.
Speaking shortly after the tour, Hon. Aka described the initiative as a “bold step towards an unprecedented digital uprising in Udenu,” adding that the Council’s investment in the project reflects its resolve to reposition the local economy through innovation and technology.

The facility, located along Ogwu Road, Obollo-Afor, adjacent to Central School Obollo-Afor, has been equipped to serve as a full-fledged technology incubation centre. It boasts a 50-sitter ICT-enabled training auditorium furnished with state-of-the-art multimedia projectors, a 20-seater conference hall, a functional cafeteria with an adjoining kitchen, modern convenience rooms, and a dedicated water supply from an on-site borehole project.

The centre has the capacity to train 30 participants per session, focusing on key digital skills such as Digital Marketing, Web Development, and Product Design (UI/UX). These areas were strategically selected to align with global tech trends and to equip young people with skills relevant to today’s job market.
Aka Eze Aka reiterated that the Hub is part of a broader agenda to tackle youth unemployment in the Local Government Area by providing a platform for innovation, digital skill acquisition, and career readiness.

He commended the technical team and the implementing partners for the quality of work done and called on young people in Udenu to take advantage of the opportunity presented by the centre.
With the completion of infrastructural works and installation of ICT gadgets, the Hub is expected to commence its first training session in the coming days, following the modalities of recruitment of trainees being fashioned out by the Council.
