Today, the Chairman of Udenu LGA, Aka Eze Aka, in a bold and strategic move to strengthen local security and safeguard the lives and property of citizens, has procured and officially commissioned 20 brand new patrol motorbikes for the Udenu Neighborhood Watch Security Outfit.
The initiative, which aligns with the Chairman’s campaign promises on enhancing Community security, comes in response to recent incidents of attempted kidnapping and rising threats from criminal elements around the Area. The patrol motorbikes, designed for efficient and swift mobility across difficult terrains, are expected to bolster surveillance and intelligence operations by the Neighborhood Watch, ensuring rapid response to security threats across the 10 electoral wards of Udenu.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony held at the Udenu Local Government Council Secretariat, Obollo Afor, Aka Eze reaffirmed his administration’s affinity to the safety of Ndi Udenu. He emphasized that the motorbikes would be deployed immediately to strategic locations to help “flush out bandits and kidnappers attempting to encroach on our Communities.”
“This is the time to take the fight to the miscreants and criminal elements making attempts to advance towards our area,” he declared. “Udenu must remain a safe haven for our people. This administration will stop at nothing to protect lives, property, and the future of our children.”

The commissioning was witnessed by top government officials and stakeholders, including the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Mrs. Onyinye Odoh; the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Rt. Hon. Chika Aroh; Chief of Staff, Dr. Jude Okwudili Ukwueze; Senior Personal Assistant (SPA) on Special Duties, Onyekachi C. Ugwu; SPA on Project Implementation, Hon. Basil Obetta; and the Commander of Udenu Neighborhood Watch Security Guards, Mr. Peter Nwanosike Ugwu, among others.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman on Security Matters, Hon. Egbuigwe Hillary, who was present at the arrival and inspection of the patrol bikes, commended the Chairman for the proactive step. He assured that the Neighborhood Watch Security Outfit is fully prepared to take on the security challenges head-on, in synergy with Police and Civil Defence Corps and bring the scourge of kidnapping to a decisive end in the area.

“The patrol bikes will enhance our capacity to respond swiftly to distress calls, patrol border Communities, and track suspicious movements,” Hon. Hillary noted. “This support from the Chairman is not only timely but deeply appreciated by all security operatives and the good people of Udenu.”
Recall that at the news of the incidents over the weekend, the Mayor immediately convoked a joint security meeting, in which far-reaching decisions, were taken, among which was this procurements, to combat crimes.
The symbolic handover of the motorbikes to the security outfit marks a new phase in Udenu’s grassroots security architecture.
Many lauded the Chairman for translating his security agenda into tangible action within his first year in office.
