The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has announced its consensus candidates for the National Assembly, presenting a lineup of experienced and credible political leaders described as a “first-eleven choice” positioned to represent the interests of the people.
The emergence of the candidates followed extensive consultations and stakeholder engagements across the state, reflecting what party leaders describe as Governor Peter Mbah’s commitment to unity, inclusiveness, and strategic political coordination.
For the House of Representatives, the consensus candidates are:

Hon. Dennis Nnamdi Agbo
Hon. Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga
Hon. Anayo Onwuegbu
Hon. Nnoli Nnaji
Hon. Cornell Onwubuya
Dr. Festus Uzor
Hon. Chidi Mark Obetta
For the Senate, the nominees are:
Senator Osita Ngwu
Chief Ikeje Asogwa
Senator Kelvin Chukwu
Party stakeholders have described the candidates as “tested and trusted leaders” with verifiable records of public service, strong grassroots connections, and the capacity to provide effective representation at the National Assembly.
According to APC leaders, the consensus arrangement is aimed at strengthening internal cohesion and strategically positioning the party for electoral competitiveness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Meanwhile, political observers note that governance developments in Enugu State under Governor Peter Mbah continue to shape the broader political environment. These include interventions in security, road infrastructure expansion, healthcare reforms through Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres and an international hospital initiative, as well as transportation reforms involving bus terminals, BRT buses, taxis, and the Enugu Air project.
Other initiatives cited include smart schools and technical education reforms, industrial growth through Haier Electronics manufacturing, mechanized agriculture, housing development, and smart city projects. The rehabilitation of the Hotel Presidential and the International Conference Centre is also said to be boosting tourism and economic activity in the state.
Observers argue that the administration’s performance within less than three years has set a pace comparable to longer-serving governments in similar contexts.
The party further noted that large-scale political rallies across the three senatorial zones reflect growing political engagement and widespread commendation of the Governor’s developmental projects. Analysts say such mobilization could play a significant role in shaping the electoral landscape as the 2027 elections approach.
