The Udenu Local Government Legislative Council held its plenary session today at the Legislative Chambers, in a pragmatic show of dedication to governance. The session, which began promptly at 10:30 AM, saw the lawmakers delve into a range of pressing issues outlined in their schedule for the day.
The proceedings commenced with the reading of the day’s agenda by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Finber Odoh. His clear and composed presentation set the tone for a structured and productive session. Prior to that, the Leader of the House — Rt. Hon. Dr. Nnamdi Odoh, and other Principal Officers were ushered into the Chambers in a traditional procession led by the Sergeant at Arms, Obetta Christopher Chinenye, who maintained the ceremonial dignity of the occasion.
Key on the agenda was the consideration of several Executive Bills, including the much-anticipated 2025 appropriation bill. The deliberations underscored the Council’s commitment to addressing the financial blueprint for the year and ensuring the Local Government’s developmental goals are met.
The Councilors engaged in robust discussions, analyzing the bills with a focus on transparency and accountability. The 2025 appropriation bill, which outlines proposed expenditures and revenue streams for the current fiscal year, received particular attention, reflecting the Council’s understanding of its significance to the lives of residents.
