The Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, today led a strong delegation of his cabinet to Umuitodo Village, Obollo Nkwo Autonomous Community, for a crucial pre-scheduled interactive meeting with residents on ways to address the recent security lapse that claimed the lives of two young men in the area last week.

The meeting, which drew a large turnout of community members led by their Traditional and political leaders, was attended by notable stakeholders including the SSA to the Chairman on Security Matters, Hillary Egbuigwe; the DPO, Obollo Afor Police Division, CSP Attah Ignatius; the Administrator of Udenu East Development Centre, Hon. Ikpechukwu Odo; the President of Obollo Nkwo Town Union, Mr. Onukwube Omame; the Onowu of Obollo Nkwo and the PDP Chairman of Obollo Etiti Ward, Hon. Norbert Chizoba Abah; women leaders; and the Traditional Ruler of the community, HRH Igwe Matthew Agbo.

Speaker after speaker emphasized the need for proactive measures to curb crime. The meeting resolved to establish a local vigilante group to work closely with security agencies in crime prevention and response.

Following the engagement, the Chairman paid a condolence visit to the family of the Late Mr. Ozobiar’ Onuh, one of the victims of last week’s attack, at Umuosogwu Village, Obollo Nkwo. He prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul, comfort for the bereaved family, and assured them of the Council’s commitment to round-the-clock security in the area under the new arrangement.
