The Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Hon. Aka Eze Aka, on December 10, hosted a seven-member delegation from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Obollo Afor Branch, during an advocacy visit. The meeting, which took place at the Chairman’s office, was marked by mutual expressions of goodwill and a commitment to fostering collaboration for the advancement of the Local Government.

The delegation, led by their Branch Chairman, Barr. Paul Chukwuemeka Odoh, and Secretary, Barr. Matthew Ugwuanyi of OJ Uchenna & Co Chambers, Nsukka, expressed their support for Aka’s administration. They pledged to partner with him in any capacity he deemed fit, underscoring their readiness to contribute to the progress and development of Udenu through their legal expertise.

During the visit, the NBA representatives highlighted the importance of the rule of law and justice in societal development. They commended the Chairman’s leadership and ongoing efforts to ensure peace and progress in Udenu. They also took the opportunity to invite the Chairman to their upcoming annual dinner scheduled for December 21. In his response, Aka Eze Aka, who received them with the Secretary to the Local Government, Rt. Hon. Chika Aroh, expressed his appreciation for the visit and the NBA’s support. He warmly recalled his longstanding relationship with the legal profession, noting that he has been a “friend of the Bar” since his school days. He lauded the NBA for its contributions to promoting a lawful and just society, emphasizing the critical role of lawyers in ensuring fairness and justice.

He further assured the delegation of his readiness to collaborate with the NBA on initiatives that align with the Local Government’s development agenda. He also affirmed his commitment to attending their annual dinner, describing it as an opportunity to further strengthen ties between the council and the Legal community.
