Aka Eze Aka, Mourns Late Mr. Okwudili Njem at Amutenyi Obollo-Eke

The Executive Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, today joined mourners at Amutenyi Obollo-Eke to pay his last respects to the Late Mr. Okwudili Njem, who tragically lost his life in a fatal motor accident on March 25, 2025.

Arriving at the somber event with a heavy heart, Aka was visibly moved as he condoled with the wife, children, and extended family of the deceased. Addressing the grieving family and mourners, the Council Chairman expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Mr. Njem, describing it as a colossal loss not only to the immediate family but to the entire Udenu community.

In his brief condolence remarks, Aka (who spoke through his SPA Special Duties, Onyekachi C. Ugwu) prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed and asked God to grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear such an irreparable loss. “We are gathered here today, not just to mourn, but to pray for the repose of his soul, and divine protection on his family” he said.

Aka was accompanied to the funeral by key members of his administration, including his SPA on Special Duties, Onyekachi C. Ugwu; SPA on Political Matters, Hon. Maduka Abonyi; Chief of Staff, Dr. Jude Okwudili Ukwueze; Legal Adviser to the Local Government, Barr. Ikechukwu Eze; and Special Assistant on Mobilization, Miss Blessing Uwakwe. Their presence underscored the depth of loss felt within the Council and the broader Udenu political family.

The Late Mr. Okwudili Njem was said to have died in a ghastly accident at Oturkpo Branch, a tragic event that sent shockwaves throughout the Community. Many described his passing at 54, as the sudden end of a gentle, hardworking, and respected individual. Eyewitness accounts and Local sources confirmed that the accident occurred in the early hours of March 25, leaving behind a trail of devastation and mourning.

His death has left a deep void in the hearts of many who knew him, with Community members paying glowing tributes to his exemplary character and generous spirit. “He was a good man, loved by all, and his death is still difficult to accept,” a mourner said, holding back tears.

The burial ceremony was marked by solemnity and reflection, as friends, relatives, and well-wishers gathered to bid farewell to a man whose life, though cut short, had a lasting impact.

As the casket was lowered to its final resting place, around 1:30PM local time, prayers and songs filled the air, while many wept openly, mourning a life lost too soon.

Aka Eze, in his closing message, delivered on his behalf by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Jude Ukwueze, reiterated the need for the family to take solace in the legacy left by the deceased.

Late Mr. Okwudili Njem is survived by his wife, children, and other relatives who now look to God for solace in this trying period.
