The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, on Saturday, held its routine monthly meeting at the Party’s Secretariat in Ohullor, Obollo Afor, amidst a strong show of solidarity, unity, and renewed commitment to party ideals. The well-attended gathering witnessed the convergence of key Stakeholders, Political Appointees, Party Leaders, and grassroots mobilizers in what observers have described as a reaffirmation of the Party’s strength and cohesion in the LGA.
Present at the meeting were prominent political figures including the former Chairman of Udenu LGA, Hon. Dr. Godwin Abonyi DVM, and former Caretaker Chairman, Onyekachi C. Ugwu. All five Supervisors of the Local Government, the ten Councilors, as well as the ten PDP Ward Chairmen in Udenu were also in attendance, highlighting the all-encompassing nature of the assembly.
Also in attendance were the Secretary to the Local Government, Rt. Hon. Chika Aroh; the Chief of Staff, Dr. Okwudili Ukwueze; SPA Political to the Chairman, Hon. Maduka Abonyi; the Local Government Legal Adviser, Barr. Ikechukwu Eze; and the Local Government Women Leaders. Their presence added further weight to the deliberations and resolutions of the meeting.

The agenda of the day was largely dominated by a series of endorsement speeches in support of the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, ahead of 2027 general elections. Stakeholders across various political groups and sub-groups took turns to commend the governor for his remarkable developmental strides, which they noted have begun to transform both the urban and rural landscapes of the State.
Governor Mbah, who doubles as the State Leader of the PDP, was lauded for his people-focused policies, especially in the areas of smart education, healthcare, security, and rural infrastructure. Party members reaffirmed their unflinching support for his administration and pledged to continue mobilizing at the grassroots level to sustain the momentum of his visionary leadership.

Also receiving high praise at the event was the Executive Chairman of Udenu LGA, Aka Eze Aka, who was commended for his effective leadership and commitment to grassroots development. As the PDP Leader in Udenu LGA, Aka was hailed for providing purposeful governance and ensuring alignment with the developmental agenda of Governor Mbah.
Hon. Ngozi Ezeja, who represented the State Party leadership at the meeting, reinforced the confidence of the State PDP in both Governor Mbah and Chairman Aka Eze Aka. She urged party members to remain steadfast, disciplined, and united, stating that the party’s progress at both State and Local levels is a reflection of the solid structures built by its leadership.

Addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman of Udenu LGA, Hon. Aka Eze Aka, expressed profound appreciation to the party faithful for their continuous support and loyalty. He described the meeting as a loud statement of purpose to the unity and strength of the PDP in Udenu, and reiterated his administration’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with Governor Peter Mbah to deliver quality governance to the people.
“I am deeply humbled by your show of love and support for His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, and for our Local administration. This meeting has once again shown that Udenu PDP is a family bound by common vision for development,” Aka Eze Aka stated.
The meeting was presided over by the PDP Chairman in Udenu LGA, Mr. Meletus Onah, who in his opening remarks emphasized the importance of regular engagement and inclusiveness in party affairs. He applauded members for their active participation and urged them to continue supporting the Party’s leadership at all levels.
As the meeting drew to a close, attendees expressed optimism for the future of the PDP in Udenu and Enugu State at large, reaffirming their readiness to stand behind the Party’s vision and contribute actively to its success in subsequent political engagements.
The Udenu PDP monthly meeting has once again demonstrated the enduring popularity of the party in the Local Government, setting the tone for continued political stability and developmental progress under the current leadership.
