The Chairman of Udenu Local Government Council, Aka Eze Aka, has congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on his appointment as Chairman of the Committee mandated to oversee the revamping of training institutions for the Nigeria Police Force and other Security Agencies across the country.

The appointment was made by the National Economic Council (NEC) at its 152nd meeting held on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The high-powered Committee is charged with producing a comprehensive blueprint for the renovation and modernization of the nation’s security training institutions within one month.

Speaking with newsmen in Obollo Afor on Friday, Aka described the appointment as “a right decision by the NEC,” emphasizing that Governor Mbah, as a visionary and result-driven leader, is the best fit to lead such a sensitive national assignment.

“This appointment further affirms Governor Mbah’s ingenuity and passion for national development. His track record in reform-driven leadership, particularly in security and governance, speaks volumes. I have no doubt that he will deliver on this task with excellence,” Aka said.

The Udenu Chairman commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating the move to reform the country’s security training architecture and for recognizing the capacity and competence of Governor Mbah.

“This initiative is not only timely but strategic to strengthening national security and enhancing the efficiency of our Security Agencies. The overhauling of training facilities nationwide will undoubtedly boost the nation’s fight against insecurity,” he added.

According to reports, other members of the Committee include former Inspector-General of Police, Baba Usman; and the Governors of Kaduna (Uba Sani), Ogun (Dapo Abiodun), Taraba (Kefas Agbu), Akwa Ibom (Umoh Eno), Zamfara (Dauda Lawal), and Nasarawa (Abdullahi Sule).
