The morning sun had barely risen over Nsukka when I stepped out to meet a group of young men gathered along the threshold to my house. Their energy was palpable, voices layered with hope and a sense of urgency. They had received an invitation, the previous day to join our trip to Enugu for the formal inauguration of the Progressives Movement for Peter Mbah (PM4PM). One of them, no older than twenty-five, turned to me and said, “Honourable, this is not politics as usual. This time, we are part of something bigger.”
That moment stayed with me.
It was not just about a journey to Enugu. It was not even about an inauguration. It was about a quiet but powerful awakening; one that has now found expression in the PM4PM. And on the 17th of March, at the Dome of the International Conference Centre, Enugu, that awakening took a bold and undeniable form.
As the Zonal Coordinator for Enugu North Senatorial Zone, I stood in awe, not of the crowd alone, but of the spirit that filled the atmosphere. From the youths to the elderly, from Community Leaders to Traders, from the clergy to political stakeholders, the turnout was nothing short of historic.
Let me state, without hesitation, that what we witnessed was not orchestrated enthusiasm. It was organic. It was voluntary. It was driven by a shared conviction that governance, when done right, inspires ownership.
And for that, I owe a debt of gratitude.
I sincerely appreciate every individual who made the event a resounding success. To our indefatigable Ward Coordinators, whose mobilization efforts ensured that every community had a voice; to the Local Government Coordinators, who provided structure and direction; to the organizers who worked behind the scenes with remarkable precision; and to every participant who showed up, not out of obligation, but out of belief, I say thank you.
Your presence was not just counted; it was felt.
I must also specially acknowledge the leadership and guidance of Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the Secretary to the State Government and the Convener and Patron of this Movement. His words during the inauguration captured the very essence of PM4PM, a Movement designed not merely to campaign, but to connect; not just to promote, but to enlighten; not only to support, but to engage.
Indeed, PM4PM is a Movement like no other.
Within a remarkably short period, it has grown into one of the most formidable grassroots coalitions in Enugu State, with structures firmly established across all 260 political wards. This is not by accident. It points to the power of common vision and the credibility of leadership.
At the heart of this Movement lies a man whose governance philosophy has redefined public service in our dear State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
Governor Mbah’s leadership has done what many thought impossible: it has restored faith in governance. His bold, innovative, and people-centered approach has delivered tangible development while also inspiring citizens to become active participants in the democratic process.
It is this inspiration that gave birth to PM4PM.
People do not volunteer en masse for what they do not believe in. They do not commit their time, energy, and resources to what does not resonate with their reality. The emergence and rapid growth of this Movement, therefore, is a direct reflection of the trust the people have in the Governor’s vision, aptly captured in the powerful mantra: “Tomorrow is Here.”
And truly, tomorrow is here.
From infrastructure to education, from healthcare to economic revitalization, the signs of progress are visible, tangible, and impactful. But beyond the projects and policies, what stands out is the intentional effort to bring governance closer to the people, to ensure that no community is left behind.
This is where PM4PM becomes indispensable.
We are both mobilizers and messengers. We are both supporters and bridges, connecting the government to the grassroots, facilitating feedback, and strengthening trust. Our mission goes beyond political advocacy; it is about fostering participatory governance, where every voice matters and every community counts.
The inauguration at the ICC was, therefore, the formal unveiling of a new approach to citizen engagement; structured, inclusive, and purpose-driven.

The presence of distinguished personalities such as Mabel Agbo and Enyinnaya Franklin, alongside Local Government Chairmen and other key stakeholders, further reflected the significance of the occasion. Their goodwill messages and commitments reaffirmed a collective resolve to advance the administration’s development agenda.
As we move forward, the task before us is clear. We must take the message of transformative governance to every nook and cranny of Enugu State. We must ensure that the good news of the achievements of this administration are not confined to urban centres but are felt in the hinterlands. We must listen as much as we speak and engage as much as we mobilize.
This is a sacred bond.
And as rightly emphasized during the inauguration, it is a bond that demands commitment and diligence.
Let me also use this medium to call on the good people of Nsukka Zone and indeed the entire Enugu State to embrace this Movement. The gains are not abstract; they are real and far-reaching. PM4PM offers a platform for inclusion, a voice for the grassroots, and an opportunity to be part of a transformative journey.
As I reflect on the events of March 17, I am reminded of a simple yet profound truth: “When leadership inspires trust, the people do not wait to be called—they rise, they unite, and they lead the charge themselves.”
Together, we will ensure that the promise of today becomes the reality of tomorrow.
