The Udenu LGA Panel of Inquiry, constituted about two months ago, by Executive Chairman Hon. Aka Eze Aka to investigate the looting of the Udenu Cashew Processing Factory, has officially submitted its findings and recommendations. The presentation took place today at the Chairman’s Office in Udenu Local Government Secretariat, Obollo-Afor, marking a critical milestone in the investigation into the theft of the factory’s valuable equipment and installations.
The panel, chaired by Barrister O.J. Uchenna, submitted its comprehensive report in a formal ceremony attended by key stakeholders. Among those present were the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Rt. Hon. Chika Aroh, the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Dr. Jude Ukwueze, and the Legal Adviser to the Chairman, Barrister Ikechukwu Eze.
Aka Eze, while receiving the report, lauded the panel for their diligence and commitment to the task. He reiterated the importance of the investigation in restoring accountability and ensuring the Udenu Cashew Processing Factory is revived to serve its critical role in the local economy.
Barrister Uchenna, speaking on behalf of the panel, provided an overview of the findings, and thanked the Chairman for reposing such great trust on them and giving them the latitude to deliver on their terms of reference without interference.
In his remarks, Aka expressed gratitude to the panel for their painstaking efforts and assured them that the report will be thoroughly studied and their recommendations be considered as necessary. “This report is a crucial step in our mission to restore the Udenu Cashew Processing Factory to its full potential, and we will ensure that measures are put in place to prevent a recurrence,” he stated.
The Chairman emphasized his administration’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and economic development, assuring the public that the report will be studied for a better implementation of its recommendations. “This administration will not tolerate acts of sabotage against our community. Our focus remains on creating opportunities and building a better future for all,” he added.
