On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Onyekachi C. Ugwu, former Caretaker Chairman of Udenu, expressed his wholehearted support and commendation for the recent flag-off of the dualization of the Ugwuogo Nike—Opi Nsukka road by Governor Peter Mbah. This significant infrastructure project aims to enhance transportation efficiency and stimulate economic growth Enugu North Senatorial District and the State in general.
In his reaction to a news flash posted in Aka Eze Aka’s Media platform on Tuesday, Mr. Onyekachi more fondly called Ahmed Udenu emphasized the road’s importance as a vital link facilitating trade and movement between communities in Nsukka and its environs. He praised Governor Mbah for his administration’s commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure, which he believes is crucial for fostering development and ensuring greater accessibility for residents of the area.
His statement corroborated an earlier Press Release made public from Office of the Executive Chairman of Udenu — Aka Eze Aka immediately after the flag off of the project.
“The dualization of the Ugwuogo Nike—Opi Nsukka road is a monumental step towards enhancing connectivity and boosting economic activities in our region. I commend Governor Mbah for his vision and dedication to delivering quality infrastructure that meets the needs of our people,” Ugwu stated.
The project, which is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve safety for commuters, is part of a broader initiative by the state government to upgrade key road networks across Enugu State. Ugwu stressed that this upgrade will not only benefit local residents but also attract investments and create job opportunities in the region.
