In a grand celebration of love, Kenneth Onu and his beloved, Faith Eleje, were joined in holy matrimony today at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ada Agu, Nsukka. The ceremony, which commenced at 10:00 AM, was presided over by Very Rev. Fr. Paul Nwonu, alongside five other distinguished priests, including: Rev. Fr. Centus Okpe, Rev. Fr. Oliver Eze, Rev. Fr. Jude Eze, Rev. Fr. Victor.
The solemn Holy Mass of Matrimony was enriched with a thought-provoking homily by Rev. Fr. Oliver Eze, who emphasized the sacredness of marriage. “Marriage is a partnership rooted in love, patience, and faith in God. Always seek the face of the Lord to sustain your union,” he urged the couple.
Rev. Fr. Centus Okpe, an indigenous Priest of the town and Parish Priest of St. Michael’s Parish, Mbu Akpoti, administered the Sacrament of Matrimony, guiding the couple as they willfully exchanged their vows of eternal love and commitment.
The wedding witnessed a massive turnout of family, friends, and well-wishers who came to celebrate the joyous union. Among the dignitaries were the couple’s sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Abah of Green Age International Ltd, and notable personalities such as Lagos-based Pharmacy Entrepreneurs — Mr. Ifeanyi Okpe, and Mr. Tochukwu Ugwueme, notable friends of the couple — Mr. Finbar Agbo, Col. Aaron Agbo, Malaysia-based Mr. Iloegbunam Abah, of G-Favour Autos and Fashion Ltd, and Mr. Anayo Abah, Finland-based Mr. Igwebuike Odoh, and Master Chika Eze, and Uk-based Medical Laboratory Scientist — Mr. Cajethan Ezeh, Lagos-based Engr. Theophilus Ezeh, Mr. Calistus Eze, Mr. Udoka Onah, among others.
Mr. Joseph Abah, who sponsored the wedding, in a private chat with The Concourse News reporter, expressed his heartfelt wishes for the couple. “We are deeply honored to be part of this milestone in their lives. May their love grow stronger with each passing day,” he remarked.
After the church wedding, the celebration moved to Idi Opi, in Nsukka Local Government Area, the bride’s hometown, for a vibrant traditional marriage ceremony (Igbankwu). The reception was a spectacle of color, culture, and tradition, marking the unity of the Onu and Eleje families.
Highlights of the event included the cutting of the wedding cake, a dance spree featuring energetic moves from the couple and guests, and the exchange of gifts that symbolized the families’ blessings for the union.
Mr. Jonas Onuh, the eldest brother of the Groom, described the day as a “dream come true.” He said, “Kenneth and Faith have shown us what true love looks like. Today typifies their dedication to each other and their faith in God.”
The Onu and Eleje families were visibly elated, expressing their gratitude to all who graced the occasion. The mother of the bride who spoke in native language remarked, “This is a day of great joy for both families. We are grateful to God for the success of these ceremonies and pray for a blissful married life for the couple.”
The event ended with merriment as guests dined, danced, and celebrated the couple’s union late into the night.
As Kenneth and Faith embark on their journey as husband and wife, their families, friends, and the Church community stand united in prayers and best wishes for a marriage filled with love, harmony, and divine blessings.
