The Comptroller of the Federal Fire Service, Enugu State Command, C.G. Ezeora, on Monday led a delegation of Officers to the Udenu Local Government Area on a courtesy and working visit to the Executive Chairman, Aka Eze Aka.
The delegation, comprising seven senior officers and personnel of the Federal Fire Service, was on a mission to strengthen collaboration with the Local Government and formally introduce the newly appointed Head of Fire Service Operations in Udenu Area Command, CFF Chikodili I. Nicholas.
The team was warmly received by the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Rt. Hon. Chika Aroh, who represented the Executive Chairman in his Office. He was flanked by Dr. Chidiebere Nnamani ESQ, and Onyekachi C. Ugwu. In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Aroh expressed the Council’s appreciation for the commitment of the Federal Fire Service in ensuring fire safety and emergency response across the Local Government.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, Rt. Hon. Aroh reaffirmed that the Udenu Local Government Council will continue to prioritize the welfare of Security agencies and emergency response Units operating in the area.
“The Chairman of Udenu LGA, Aka Eze Aka, remains committed to fostering a strong partnership with Security and emergency response agencies. The safety of our people is paramount, and we recognize the crucial role played by the Fire Service in safeguarding lives and property. The Council will continue to support all Security forces and safety corps operating in Udenu,” he stated.
In his response, Comptroller C.G. Ezeora appreciated the warm reception accorded to his team and commended the proactive efforts of the Udenu Local Government in maintaining security and emergency preparedness. He emphasized the need for continued synergy between the Federal Fire Service and the Local Government in the areas of fire prevention, emergency response, and public safety awareness.
The highlight of the visit was the formal introduction of CFF Chikodili I. Nicholas, the newly designated Head of Fire Service Operations for the Udenu Area Command. Chikodili, in his brief remarks, assured the Council of his commitment to improving fire response times, enhancing fire prevention awareness, and working closely with the Local authorities to mitigate fire disasters in Udenu LGA.

The meeting concluded with discussions on potential areas of collaboration, including fire safety sensitization programs, training for Local emergency responders, and improving firefighting infrastructure within the Local Government area.

The visit marks a significant step towards strengthening emergency response capabilities in Udenu LGA and fostering inter-agency cooperation for improved public safety.
