The Olenyi Football League, an annual event held from December 28, 2024, to January 8, 2025, saw Enyi FC emerge victorious after a fiercely contested series of matches. Chairman Aka Eze Aka, a staunch advocate for youth development, provided critical financial and logistical support to the team, reinforcing his commitment to grassroots sports outlined in his election manifesto . His administration has prioritized infrastructure upgrades and social services, aligning with his vision for a “prosperous Udenu.”
The Club General Manager Ezeobollo Harrison Odinaka expressed gratitude, noting: “Without the chairman’s belief in our potential, this achievement would not have been possible. His support transcended resources—it motivated us to excel.” The Club also announced plans to use their prize funds to rejig the Club’s logistics and training facilities, and to further community engagement.
Aka reaffirmed his resolve to expand sports and youth support across Udenu’s villages and wards, emphasizing that “every young person deserves a platform to thrive, whether through sports, education, or entrepreneurship.” This pledge aligns with his broader agenda of sustainable development, which has garnered widespread acclaim since his election in September 2024.
The event highlighted Udenu’s growing reputation as a hub for youth-driven initiatives. By bridging governance and community aspirations, Aka has set a precedent for how local leadership can catalyze societal progress. As Enyi FC prepares to defend their title next year, the Chairman’s ongoing support promises to inspire a new generation of athletes and leaders.
