Udenu Local Government Council earlier today supervised the distribution of vital farm inputs to farmers, in a major step toward enhancing food security and empowering local farmers.
The exercise, which took place at the Local Government Secretariat pavillion, Obollo Afor, under the close supervision of the Supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Kelechi Ugwu, alongside the Special Assistant on Agriculture to the Udenu Chairman, Hon. Everestus Ugwuonah, saw the equitable sharing of agricultural materials to farmers in all ten political wards of the Council.

The distributed items included about 800 bags of 50KG organic nitrogenous fertilizers, 1,800 bundles of cassava seedling sticks, and 80 cartons of pesticides. These were allocated to the ten registered Farmers’ Cooperative Societies, ensuring fair access to all Beneficiaries.
The visibly elated farmers expressed deep appreciation to the Chairman of Udenu LGA, Aka Eze Aka, for his commitment to fairness and transparency in the allocation of social amenities and development programs.

Speaking during the event, Officials acknowledged that the farm inputs were part of a larger initiative by the Enugu State Ministry of Agriculture, distributed across all 17 Local Government Areas of the State. The program aligns with the agricultural revolution agenda of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, which seeks to boost food production and strengthen the agricultural value chain in Enugu State.

The distribution marks yet another mega step in Udenu LGA’s efforts to support grassroots farmers and contribute to the State’s drive for agricultural transformation.
