A respected Medical Laboratory Scientist and Senior Staff of the Federal College of Medical Laboratory Science, Jos, MLS UcheJeso Obeta, has successfully defended his Doctoral research thesis at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, marking a significant academic and professional milestone.
The defense, which took place on November 06, 2024, qualifies him for the award of a Doctoral Degree in Public Administration, with a specialization in Human Resources Management.
His groundbreaking thesis, titled “E-health Administration and Service Delivery in Jos University Teaching Hospital, 2019–2024,” provides a comprehensive investigation into the evolving landscape of electronic health systems in Nigeria. The work examines E-health administration from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, down through tertiary institutions, secondary/specialist hospitals, and primary healthcare centres.

Obeta’s research deals with the critical relevance of E-health adoption in the post–COVID-19 era, stressing its necessity for strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare delivery in line with global best practices. The study serves as a timely roadmap for improved digital health governance, enhanced institutional efficiency, and better patient outcomes across the country.
