In a move aimed at deepening diaspora engagement and fostering development, the Executive Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, has appointed Dr. Sir. Anterus C. Eze as his Personal Assistant on Diaspora Matters. The appointment was made at the Udenu Local Government Secretariat in Obollo Afor following a crucial meeting between the Chairman and Dr. Eze, where they deliberated extensively on the Enugu State Diaspora Initiative.

Dr. Eze, a distinguished Leader in the diaspora community, played a key role in the initiative at the State level. His new role will see him leading efforts to cascade the initiative to the grassroots, in line with the directive of Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah. Governor Mbah, who recently, during an interactive session with the Diaspora Group at the Old Government Lodge in Enugu, emphasized the need for strategic diaspora participation in the State’s development agenda.

With this appointment, Dr. Eze will oversee the Diaspora Desk at the Udenu Local Government Secretariat. His primary responsibility will be to coordinate the development and investment interests of Udenu indigenes living abroad, ensuring they align with the administration’s broader vision for progress. His office will serve as a bridge between the Diaspora Community and the Local Government, fostering collaboration and facilitating impactful investments.

Dr. Eze is expected to work closely with the administration of Aka Eze, as well as the State Government, to drive integral development. His experience and track record in mobilizing the Enugu State Diaspora are expected to be instrumental in attracting investment and development projects to the Area.

Speaking after his appointment, Dr. Eze expressed profound gratitude to the Council Chairman for entrusting him with the responsibility. He pledged to work diligently in ensuring that Udenu indigenes in the Diaspora contribute meaningfully to the local economy and infrastructure development.

“I am deeply honored by this appointment and grateful to Chairman Aka for his confidence in me. The Diaspora Community holds enormous potential in driving the development of our homeland, and I look forward to working with all stakeholders to realize this vision,” Dr. Eze stated.

He also called on the people of Udenu to support the administration’s innovative strides, highlighting the Chairman’s dedication to infrastructural transformation.

Dr. Anterus C. Eze has a longstanding reputation for excellence, leadership, and integrity. For over eight years, he has served as the Coordinator of the Enugu State Diaspora Group in Europe, where he has been instrumental in fostering connections between the Diaspora and the homeland. His leadership has seen numerous initiatives aimed at Community development and investment.

In a demonstration of his commitment to development, Dr. Eze, recently established the prestigious La Vera College of Nursing Sciences and the La Vera College Hospital and Diagnostics Ltd, both in Nsukka. Plans are already in motion to expand the institution with the establishment of an Obollo Campus, further contributing to the educational and healthcare sectors in the Area.

The meeting at the Udenu Local Government Secretariat was attended by key government officials, including the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Rt. Hon. Chika Aroh, and the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Dr. Jude Ukwueze.
