Aka Eze Aka Chairman Udenu Local Government Council today, the 24th August paid a visit to Ezimo Water Borehole project ongoing sited at Onuiyi Amallaogbo/ Amogu Ezimo public square to monitor the progress of work.

Accompanying him were the SPA Project Monitoring Chief Basil Ejikeme Obetta and the Supervisor for Works.

On hand to receive the Chairman and his team were His Royal Highness, Igwe John C Ugwu, (Ezigbo Ezimo), Chief Mbaeje Cyril, President General Ezimo Town Union and Onyekachi C Ugwu, erstwhile SPA Special Duties to the Chairman.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far and commended the community for providing an enabling environment for the contractor to carry out his assignment. He went on to “assure the community that his administration is committed to equitable distribution of basic amenities to all wards in Udenu Local Government area”. In the same vein, he assured the people that in a few weeks time, the borehole will commence operation as all arrangements have been made to install the overhead reservoir and solar power to make it operational.

Thanking the Chairman, the traditional ruler HRH Igwe John E. Ugwu on behalf of the community “expressed deep appreciation to the Chairman on behalf of the community and thanked him for responding to the cries of the people through this potable drinking water project, which will abate the people’s resort to stream water which has been adjudged as a primary source of water borne disease due to open defecation and as such raises a lot of concerns within the international community”.

In his reaction, Onyekachi C Ugwu thanked the Chairman for being “responsive and committed to jumpstarting Udenu Local Government into the path of true progress” and assured him “of the continued support of Ezimo people to his administration”.

Adding his voice to the plethora of commendations, Chief Mbaeje Cyril President General Ezimo Town Union “prayed that God will continue to guide and promote Aka Eze Aka to higher heights”.
