Earlier today, in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots security and sustaining the efforts of community policing, Mr. Venatus Odinaka Abonyi was been officially inaugurated as the new Branch Commander of the Orba Neighborhood Watch Security Outfit. The event, which took place in Orba Autonomous Community, marked a turning point in the local security landscape and was attended by prominent dignitaries from Udenu Local Government Area and beyond.
Mr. Abonyi, who was unanimously chosen by members of the security outfit, takes over from Mr. Meletus Odo, fondly known as Nwuriom, who voluntarily stepped down from the role a few weeks ago. The transition in leadership was formalized by the Leadership of the Udenu Neighborhood Watch Security Outfit in a well-attended ceremony characterized by community solidarity and renewed commitment to safety and vigilance.

The Executive Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, led a delegation of top government officials to witness the occasion. Present at the event were his Deputy, Hon. Mrs. Onyinye Odo; the SPA on Special Duties, Mr. Onyekachi C. Ugwu; the Senior Special Assistant on Security, Mr. Hillary Udeagha; the Chief of Staff, Dr. Jude Ukwueze; and the Special Assistant on Tourism Development, Mr. Kelechi Obetta. Others included the Legal Adviser to the Local Government, Barr. Ikechukwu Eze, and the Overall Commander of Udenu Neighborhood Watch, Mr. Nwanosike Ugwu.
Adding traditional legitimacy and blessings to the ceremony was the presence of the royal father of Orba Autonomous Community, His Royal Highness Igwe Ambrose Onugwu Eze, who lauded the community for embracing peace and upholding the values of self-security.

In his keynote address, the Executive Chairman, Aka Eze Aka, commended the Neighborhood Watch for its consistent efforts in complementing the security architecture of the Local Government. He congratulated the newly inaugurated Commander and charged him to serve with integrity, fairness, and a high sense of responsibility.
“We are proud of the progress our Neighborhood Watch has made in securing our Communities. Leadership is a call to serve, not to rule. Mr. Abonyi must be diligent and impartial in the discharge of his duties. The people of Orba and the entire Udenu expect nothing less,” the Chairman stated.

The ceremony concluded with traditional blessings, and goodwill messages from Stakeholders, all of whom expressed optimism that the new leadership will sustain and improve the gains made in Community policing in Orba.
With this new chapter, the Orba Neighborhood Watch Security Outfit is set to reinforce its commitment to the safety and well-being of the Community, aligning with the broader vision of the Udenu Local Government administration under Aka Eze Aka.
