With a determined effort to strengthen grassroots security, the Executive Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, on Saturday inaugurated Mr. Aba Ejiofor Omengbe as the new Chairman of the Neighborhood Watch Security Outfit for Ifuroka Amalla Autonomous Community.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Ifuroka Amalla, had in attendance the Leader of Udenu Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Patrick O. Ugwu, the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Dr. Jude Okwudili Ukwueze, the Senior Special Assistant on Security, Mr. Hillary Udeagha, and the Chairman of Udenu Local Government Neighborhood Watch Security Outfit, Mr. Peter Nwanosike Ugwu, among other stakeholders.
The appointment of Mr. Ejiofor Omengbe comes at a crucial time, following months of leadership tussles within the Community’s security outfit. His emergence is seen as a product of extensive reconciliation efforts championed by Aka Eze Aka, who engaged various Stakeholders in a series of consultative meetings to restore order and unity.
In recognition of his dedication and service, the outgone Chairman of the Ifuroka Community Neighborhood Watch, Mr. Chinedu Okpe, popularly known as Owachada, was appointed as Liaison Officer on Security to the LG Chairman for Ifuroka Community. The announcement of his new role was met with widespread jubilation, as community members expressed satisfaction with the leadership transition.

The appointment of Mr. Ejiofor Omengbe, has also been met with enthusiasm across the community, signaling broad acceptance by the people. Residents expressed confidence in his ability to consolidate on the security gains achieved so far while fostering peace and development in Ifuroka Amalla.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Aka Eze Aka re-echoed his administration’s commitment to ensuring effective security at the grassroots level. He noted that Community policing remains a vital strategy in tackling security challenges, and assured residents of continued support for the newly inaugurated leadership.

“The safety and security of our Communities are paramount. We are confident that with the new leadership in place, Ifuroka Amalla Neighborhood Watch will continue to play a vital role in maintaining peace and order,” the Chairman stated.
Aka further commended the efforts of the outgone Chairman, Mr. Chinedu Okpe, for his diligence and resilience in ensuring the security outfit remained functional despite challenges. He urged the new leadership to work closely with the Local Government and other security agencies to sustain the peace in the Community.
Following the inauguration ceremony, Udenu Mayor proceeded to inspect the ongoing construction of the Amalla Ward Smart School, a key component of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s revolutionary education project aimed at improving basic education infrastructure across Enugu State.

The Chairman expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at the site, commending the Contractor for maintaining high standards and the Stakeholders of Amalla Ward for their oversight role.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, the President General of Amalla, Hon. Cyril Ejiofor Kenneth, lauded Governor Peter Mbah for his massive investment in education, describing the Smart School project as a game-changer for the community.
“His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, has demonstrated a determined commitment to the development of education in Enugu State. On behalf of the people of Amalla Ward, we are deeply grateful for this landmark project. We pray that God continues to bless him for the great work he is doing,” Hon. Ejiofor Kenneth remarked.
With the inauguration of the new Neighborhood Watch Chairman and the progress of developmental projects such as the Smart School, Ifuroka Amalla Autonomous Community is poised for a new era of security, stability, and growth.
The leadership of Aka Eze Aka in Udenu continues to demonstrate a proactive approach to governance, fostering peace, and enhancing security at the grassroots level. As the new Neighborhood Watch leadership settles into office, all eyes are on Ejiofor Omengbe and his team to consolidate on past achievements and chart a new course for community policing in Ifuroka Amalla.
