Ndi Udenu deejenu. Today marks the begining of a new phase of hope for me and the people of this local government that have sacrificed this day to elect me the Chairman of Udenu LGA. I stand tall with pride and patriotism in my heart this day with a deep sense of gratitude and indescribable joy. I therefore on behalf of my family say thank you for this singular effort that defines the next four years or thereabout, of hope, of commitment and an ultimate resolve to take this local government to an enviable height. I am humbled and honoured to accept this electoral offer to be the Mayor of Udenu LGA. The massive support from the people of Udenu is unprecedented. I shall never take this for granted.

I shall reiterate my words during the tasking campaign trips and toils that: I SHALL NOT DISAPPOINT UDENU. You have shown that when a community comes together, united by a shared purpose, nothing is impossible. I respect your choice; I honour your courage, I appreciate your determination and fervent commitment to a better future for our beloved Local Government Area.

Let me put in a word or two to tell of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s steadfast adherence to a purposeful government. His Excellency’s support in this enterprise has been awesome and uplifting. Our campaign was easy as it was buoyed by his achievements and goodwill and I am eternally grateful.

During our visits in the campaign, we were able to ascertain the various needs of our people. Our people need the basics of life with working infrastructure under a secured environment. We as a new government shall be committed to fulfilling our campaign promises which are anchored on these shared vision. It is an outstanding advantage that the government of the day at the state have shown the way and shall be a guiding light.

Today may not be the day for a long speech but I on behalf of my deputy chairman, Mrs. Anthonia Onyinye Odo, must thank the party hierarchy for allowing us the platform to contest. PDP is a bastion of democracy and I thank the leadership in the state as well as in the local setting. My campaign Director General Mr. Chinedu Onuh is an awesome character with a voluble mastery of the game of politics. I owe a lot to him!
There are too many persons to thank in this regard but it would be sufficient to say THANK YOU to all those through Hon. Solomon Izuchukwu Onah, our House of Assembly man who showed unalloyed support and dedication.

On a separate bias, I remain grateful to the Deputy governor, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai as well as the former Governor of our state, our leader in Udenu Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Gburus the Great. They showed their support in outstanding way.

My supporters are countless, especially the elderly women and men in the villages who defied the sunshine to come out and vote for Aka Eze Aka. The jubilant youths, the singing and dancing women and even the chorusing children, all of you had something rich to add to my joy and victory.

We ran a satisfying campaign that resonated across the state and the nation. Sincerely speaking, the campaign whipped up a lot of joyful sentiments across the diaspora-world. The Media team led by Eze Jude kept pace with the dynamics of the enterprise. God keep you. Together, we have forged an unbreakable bond, and I am confident that with your continued partnership, we will be able to deliver on the promises we have made to our people.

I wish to extend my regards to my fellow contestants in the race. We ran a good race and finished off well under the clinical delivery and professional attention to the electoral processes by the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC). The election was free, fair, credible and interesting. In the end, one person had to brace the tape. I am the winner and I invite my brother-contestants to join me in the work ahead.

Udenu is a great Local government and we shall make it greater for my children, your children and indeed all in this locality! Thank you all and congratulations to us all.

God bless Udenu!
God bless Enugu State!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Aka Eze Aka,
Chairman-Elect,
Udenu Local Government Council.
