Following an extensive period of preparation and a rigorous reaccreditation exercise, we are pleased to announce that the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), on March 27, 2026, has approved an upward review of the University of Nigeria Medical School’s carrying capacity to 400.
With this development, the University of Nigeria now holds the highest approved training quota for medicine in the country.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor (Professor Simon Uchenna Ortuanya), College leadership, Global Alumni, staff, and students whose dedication and support made this achievement possible.
