The ongoing APC primary elections in Enugu State have so far remained peaceful, orderly, and largely rancour-free across wards and local government areas of the state, a development many residents and citizens have attributed to the prevailing atmosphere of stability and governance under the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
The conduct of the primaries for the House of Representatives, Senate, and State House of Assembly has been marked by calm coordination and active participation of party faithful, without the widespread tension, uncertainty, and conflict that often characterise similar exercises in many parts of the country.
In Enugu South Local Government Area, particularly in Ward One, Amechi East, party faithful witnessed the participation of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, alongside Chief Dr John Egbo, Deputy Sheriff (Rtd.), during the APC primary election for the Enugu South Rural State Constituency seat.
Their presence at the exercise added visibility and momentum to the process, while further energising party supporters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Governor Mbah’s huge investments in security, infrastructure, transport, and economic transformation have continued to boost public confidence in governance while strengthening political participation across every nook and cranny of the state.
Crime has dropped significantly, while Enugu State has increasingly distinguished itself as one of the most peaceful and investment-friendly states in Nigeria, where education, business, real estate development, and commerce can thrive.
Indeed, the growing influx of residents into Enugu metropolis has contributed to increased demand for housing and accommodation.
The administration’s ambitious road and bridge projects aimed at connecting rural communities and boosting interstate commerce are described as historic and commendable.
These include strategic roads linking Owo Town and Isi-Uzo to Udenu Local Government Area, as well as the road connecting Amechi Idodo to Amagunze in Nkanu West Local Government Area. The dualisation of the Ugwuogo-Opi Road is another landmark project expected to stand as a lasting legacy of the administration.
Equally noteworthy is the Smart City dual carriageway project, which represents a bold step towards modern urban development.
In less than three years, Governor Peter Mbah has undeniably transformed Enugu State across critical sectors including governance, infrastructure, transport, security, and economic development.
The peaceful conduct of the APC primary elections across the state is yet another testament to the stable and progressive atmosphere his administration has fostered.
