Today, in continuation of its statewide familiarization tour, the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission Board, led by its Chairman, Barr. Nana Ogbodo, paid a working visit to Udenu Local Government Secretariat, Obollo. The visit aimed at acquainting the workforce with Governor Peter Mbah’s “Tomorrow is Here” leadership philosophy and ensuring alignment with the administration’s strategic objectives.

The Chairman of Udenu Local Government Council, Aka Eze Aka, alongside his Deputy, Hon. Mrs. Onyinye Odoh, warmly received Barr. Ogbodo and his team at his office. During the reception, Aka praised Barr. Ogbodo’s dedication and commended Governor Peter Mbah for his meticulous approach to leadership by appointing competent individuals to critical positions.
“The appointment of Barr. Nana Ogbodo as Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission Board is another affirmation to Governor Peter Mbah’s commitment to placing square pegs in square holes,” Aka remarked. He further described the visit as timely and essential, considering the Governor’s mission to transform the State’s economy.

After the brief reception, the Council Chairman led the team to the Local Government Multipurpose Hall, where the entire workforce of Udenu LGA was eagerly waiting for an interactive session with the Board members. The event provided an opportunity for robust engagement between the Board and the workforce, aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency.
Appointees of the Local Government Council Chairman were also on hand to receive the Board. These included the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Rt. Hon. Chika Aroh; Chief of Staff, Dr. Jude Ukwueze; Special Assistant on Project Implementations, Chief Basil Obetta; Special Assistant on Special Duties, Onyekachi C. Ugwu; Special Assistant on Political Matters, Chief Maduka Abonyi, among others.

It will be recalled that a few months ago, Governor Peter Mbah inaugurated the new Enugu State Local Government Service Commission Board, with Barr. Nana Ogbodo serving as Chairman. The Board’s other members include Hon. Peter Nnaji as Member I, Mrs. Florence Ifenyinwa Igboji as Member II, Dr. Bartholomew Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, the former Chief of Protocols at the Enugu State Government House, as Member III, Ambassador Amaka Nweke as Member IV, and Osondu Henry Nnaji as Member V.
The appointments, widely acclaimed as competency-driven, align with Governor Mbah’s resolve to achieve exceptional governance through capable leadership. Since its constitution, the Board, under Barr. Ogbodo’s stewardship, has been traversing the 17 Local Government Areas of the State, motivating workers to enhance productivity and professionalism.
During the interactive session, Barr. Ogbodo reiterated Governor Peter Mbah’s vision to elevate Enugu State’s economy to unprecedented heights through efficient service delivery. He emphasized the need for the workforce to rededicate themselves to their duties with commitment and accountability.

“Governor Peter Mbah’s vision of a greater Enugu State can only be realized through hard work, dedication, and professionalism,” Barr. Ogbodo stated. “We are here to ensure that all Local Government workers align with this vision and contribute their quota effectively.”
The visit to Udenu LGA forms part of the Board’s efforts to promote Governor Mbah’s reform agenda, which emphasizes efficiency, transparency, and productivity across all tiers of government.
The Chairman of Udenu LGA, Aka Eze Aka, appreciated the Board’s visit and pledged the commitment of the Council’s workforce to the vision of the Governor. He noted that the interactive session would significantly boost the morale of the workers and enhance their performance.
