Udenu Local Government Area has been thrown into heightened tension following a wave of coordinated kidnapping incidents recorded within the last 72 hours across Ezimo, Umuosogide, and parts of Amalla communities. The unsettling developments have left residents anxious as security operatives race against time to dismantle the criminal networks behind the attacks.
According to a press statement from the office of the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Chairman, the Local Government Chairman, Aka Eze Aka, has been on the frontline of frantic security engagements since the incidents emerged. He has reportedly held a series of strategic meetings with security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders in an effort to reinforce the security grid and choke off escape routes available to the assailants.
Sources familiar with the ongoing operations say the tactical pressure exerted by the coordinated security efforts has significantly constrained the movement of the perpetrators, leaving them “vulnerable and in disarray.” Security operatives are currently combing targeted locations using actionable intelligence to fast-track the rescue of the abducted victims and neutralize the networks behind the attacks.
Amid speculations of imminent restructuring within local security formations, Aka Eze Aka has assured the public that every necessary measure, both conventional and unconventional, is being explored to restore calm across all affected communities. He emphasized that the safety of residents remains his administration’s top priority.
The Chairman also extended heartfelt sympathy to families whose loved ones have been taken hostage, urging them to remain strong as efforts are intensified for a safe rescue mission. He further encouraged residents to immediately report all suspicious movements and commended those who have already volunteered helpful intelligence.
Despite the tension, the Local Government leadership maintains that Udenu will overcome the current threats. “Peace will return. The criminals will be crushed,” the Chairman assured through his Media Aide.
Residents are, however, advised to stay calm, maintain vigilance, and support the ongoing security operations as Udenu works to reclaim its tranquility.
